Domain General: Transferring an Expired Domain Name.

Hi,

One of my friend has initiated transfer of 3 domain names, from another
registrar to gandi.net . He received the confirmation mail from
Gandi.net to start transfer and he has accepted the transfer. Now,
after 2 days his domain names expired, the transfer is not complete.
Now he called his previous domain reseller, who told him that those 3
domains can't be renewed at the this time even at the old registrar.
And also suggested him, that he should cancel this transfer if he wants
to renew the expired domain names, and said nor transfer will be
completed successfully as domain names are expired. The domains names
are expired on 22nd August 2007, though they (their NS DNS RRs) can be
still resolved from {A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L}.GTLD-SERVERS.NET DNS
servers.

Can you suggest what he should do now ? Shall he cancel the domain name
transfer, hmm... ?

The domains expired on 22nd October, 2007, not on 22nd August, 2007.

A domain name in transfer don't expire.
You must contact your registrar for accept the transfer :)
