Domain General: Remembering my Handle

You should be logged in to post new messages. Create an account.

I just transferred domains to Gandi and created my account for the first
time. It provided me with a handle which I'm not happy about. This
guarantees that in the future I will be checking my email for my handle
every time I wish to log in to Gandi. Is there a way to rename your handle
to something YOU prefer? Or would it be easier to delete the handle/account
before the transfer goes through and recreate it somehow with a legit
handle?

Thanks

Why not save the handle in some way? I use LastPass.com to remember
usernames/passwords for various sites, so it automatically fills in the
login field whenever I need it.

You can also use the "remember password" feature in your browser if you
wish.

Another option is simply checking the whois record for your domain: the
handle is listed there.

Depending on the extension, the whois may not tell you what your handle is.

We are looking at possible ways to allow for personalized handles in the
future, as it is in the realm of possibility. However for the moment they
are generated automatically based on the first 2 letters of the account name
followed by the sequential number of their creation.
