No access to my Wordpress install URL

Hello folks

I have just taken a simple hosting account and I'm attempting to install
Wordpress. I have followed the instructions but when I try to access the
/wp-admin/install.php i keep getting a 404 message.

This is probably something really silly on my part because I have only used
CPanel in the past.

Does this ring any bells with anyone? If so can you help?

Ive been with 6 hosting companies, and Ive never seen such a weak costumer
support, I dont know how the support is in US but in Spain it takes ONE WEEK
to respond..

How long will it take to register a .xn--fiqs8s domain?
Another registrar is saying it takes several days from payment for the
domain to go live.  Is this normal?

Guess I'm too used to domains coming on more or less instantly :-)

Site Won't Publish

I have used Gandi's site maker for around four to five months now and find
it very simple and easy to use.

Yesterday I decided to upgrade my basekit package to ''Personal'' for £5.38
a month, it allows me to have up to ten pages, and offers a larger storage
space for files. Before the upgrade, everything was fine, and the Basekit
site maker had always published my site when I had updated it.

I spent hours making my new pages and uploading large images, but then the
editor would not publish my changes.

When I click on 'publish' a little circle appears in the centre of my screen
to show progress, similar to the windows loading circle on Internet
Explorer.

Normally, at this point, it would take a minute or two and then a message
saying that it was published and some other things would appear.

All I am now getting is the little progress wheel. In Internet Explorer, the
wheel does not even turn.

On the advice of the Gandi support team I have tried:

~Internet Explorer 32bit (Cache cleared, cookies cleared) -Latest version

~Internet Explorer 32bit No Add-ons (Cache cleared, cookies cleared) -Latest
version

~Firefox (Cache cleared, cookies cleared) -Latest version

~Opera (Cache cleared, cookies cleared) -Latest version

I am running Windows 7 64 bit



None of the above browsers will publish my changes.

When I log in to Basekit site maker it remembers all the changes I made but
it simply will not publish them to my site.

I am at a loss at what to do?? Any help is appriciated.

New kernel Linux 3.2 for the IaaS (3.2.45)

Hello,

A new kernel based on Linux 3.2.45 is available on the IaaS platform. It is 
available in both architectures 32 bits, 64 bits and 64 bits + grsecurity 
patch on both our datacenter : Paris and Baltimore.

Archives of module are available on http://mirrors.gandi.net/kernel/ but the
gandi-kernel initscript on the virtual machine should be able to download
and install the modules for the new kernel.

If your virtual machine is running a 3.2 kernel, you just have to reboot the
virtual machine and your VM will be running the new kernel 3.2.45-xenU-7899.

XMLRPC domain API problem

Hello,

I have problem with the xmlrpc api from gandi. I am using the latest one and
when I try to get information from my domain (api.domain.host.list) I get an
RPC exception which tell me that host object is not found. 

(<Fault 510642: "Error on object : OBJECT_HOST (CAUSE_NOTFOUND) [Host
'mydomain.com' doesn't exist]">)

Any helps to get domain informations through rpc is appreciate... seems
buggy.

Hi there,

I'm trying to trigger a .php file in my site every hour. I've copied and
amended the code from this discussion:

But it is not working. My cron task is:

in this file:

- my question is, is this the correct path? And could someone explain the
first line in case I've made a mistake?

Ok so my english is not the best in the world but I cant understand 100% the
wiki on how to host a domain from another registrar.....
Ive asked support team, and they responded EXACTLY the same that says the
wiki....So im exactly with the same issue here.. After 30 hours of waiting
and NOBODY has responded then I come here to ask..
In the past If I wanted to host a domain from another registrar I just had
to change the DNS and BINGO!
But it seems gandi is asking for codes with TEXT in the domain?
Where should I add these needed codes? Cant I just change DNS?

Gandi server trouble

Early april my client was affected by the network outages mentioned in other
threads on this forum:

Early May Gandi admitted that it wasn't something to do with my
configuration, but due to a Kernel bug on the node. They moved my server to
another node which has a patched Kernel without the bug. 

Now the network outages are definitely over. They are replaced by random
Kernel Panic's and complete system shutdown.

My client's server was running Ubuntu 12.04 64 bits on a 3.2 Kernel. This
monday I tried to fix things by starting a new server and system, different
distro. Debian 7 this time. I replaced the system disk on tuesday and it
seemed to be running fine. Wednesday night it went down. Wednesday afternoon
it went down and now Thursday afternoon it went down again. Without any
prior warning. As if a switch is turned of and on again.

It's driving me nuts and I get very meagre support from Gandi. They say it's
because of memory usage on my server, but it has been running okay for
years. The trouble started only a few weeks ago, without any major changes
from my part.

Up till now I have been a happy customer, but I'm getting pretty desperate.
My client and me are thinking of a exit strategy and move to another
company. Because this is becoming way to expensive to maintain.

Are there any other people experiencing the same thing?

I think my simple hosting was DDOS'd?

I'm having an issue using my simple hosting. I was out of the office
yesterday, but today I'm noticing my site is having issues with speed. I
attempted to reboot the instance and that actually failed to work. (see
image here: http://goo.gl/YR1s7). So trying to deduce what the issue was I
looked at the network activity (image here: http://goo.gl/2cdWX) and noticed
the giant spike in activity yesterday (5/14/2013). It looks like I'm getting
DDOS'd (which isn't unbelievable, but seems strange just due to the fact
it's a personal website that only I and a couple of my use). What should I
do to mitigate this and get my server up again?

Quickly restore snapshot

Hi,

I activated snapshots on my simple hosting. The snapshosts are available on
sftp:///lamp0/web/vhosts/, working well.

But I can't find them when accessing ssh console. Is there a quick way to
restore files from snapshot folders (as fast as a cp or mv) ?

SFTP clients poorly handle copy or move, they download all files locally
before uploading them on the destination remote location, which is a very
long process.
